By the 1970s, it was the heart of entertainment in the region: a restaurant, a café, and during the summer months, even an open-air cinema. In the years that followed, it evolved into an exclusive hotel and gastronomic destination. The spirit of the original complex has been carefully preserved, enriched with touches of modern luxury. Located in Agios Dimitrios – the highest village in the Pieria region – at 840 meters altitude, the area once connected ancient Macedonia with Thessaly through historic mountain passes. Alongside its breathtaking natural landscape, the village is of significant archaeological interest, with notable recent discoveries shedding light on its rich past. Nestled on the northwestern side of Mount Olympus, Hotel Dimatis is the ideal starting point for exploring Greece’s most mythical mountain. From here, you can reach the Christakis mountain refuge in just 1.5 hours – a gateway to the high peaks of Skolio (2,917 m) and Mytikas (2,919 m).During the winter months, Mount Olympus transforms into a playground for alpine ski touring and winter crossings, ideal for the most adventurous mountain lovers.
